Dance School
Atlanta Professional Dance School was founded by prominent dancers Mr. Wei Dongsheng and Miss. Jenny J. Chen in June 6th, 1997 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Atlanta Professional Dance School boasts enrollment of over 150 students and yet still growing strongly in the coming years. With the mission to cultivate new generation of artists, the school instructors have years of international experience in performing principal roles, teaching and directing, and have the love of classical ballet and Chinese folk dance. The School educates and inspires students from age 4 through adult, we strive to meet their personal goals, and all students grow from the training. Through the classes and performance opportunities, they develop grace, lyricism, coordination, strength, focus, self-esteem, character, and refinement. These benefits and the simple joy of dance help maintain a positive influence forever.
In the past years since its inception, Atlanta Professional Dance School has appeared in hundreds of events and shows, and has been invited to participate for celebration of the Chinese New Year spring festival for many consecutive years. Atlanta Professional Dance School takes pride in the following accomplishments: in 1998, invited to participate in the “Sweet Home” event hosted by the Atlanta International Children Adoption Center, and performed in the first anniversary presentation and recital show - Dream of Dance to Atlantains in the Southern Polytechnic State University Theater. In 1999, because the fast growing of the school, Atlanta Professional Dance school moved to this 6,000 square feet new facility, and was invited to perform in the grand ceremony of the Welcoming Chinese Panda by United Parcel Service and Chinese Government. In 2000, we presented our second anniversary presentation and recitals shows, Joy of Dance, and were invited to perform for Atlanta Mayor’s Walk Festival by the Mayor of Atlanta. In 2001, we were invited to perform the opening dance for the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese Art Troupe Special Performance with Chinese famous talk show artist Hou yaowen, Shi Fukuan, Xiao Lin and Li Guosheng. In 2002 and 2004 we were invited to perform Chinese dance in the travel promotion event by the Tourism bureau of China and China Professional Tours, and the school hosted the celebration of school’s five-year anniversary in The Fall’s country club. In 2003, invited as special guest group to perform for the Atlanta International School Global Exchange Gala. In 2004, we won the ART STONE GLOBAL ENTERTAINER AWARD in the International Dance Challenge large group dance competition.
In June 2002, Atlanta Professional Dance School sponsored 12 dance students to the Beijing Dance Academy in Beijing, China. For the first time we combined hosting international summer dance camp between Beijing Dance academy and Atlanta Professional Dance School. The trip was a great success, and The Atlanta Professional Dance School will continue to sponsor dance students to summer camps in China every year, hoping all students will get to learn more about and grow to love China.
After years of developing and nurturing of Atlanta Professional Dance School, Mr. Wei Dongsheng and Miss Jenny J. Chen have made Atlanta Professional Dance School blossom into a globally-recognized institution, we are currently striving to fulfill our goal of building a franchise dance school overseas in China.
The philosophy of Atlanta Professional Dance School is, to promote the Chinese and American culture and the interaction between the two.
